Matthew Van de Sande (Posted March 3, 2026)
I am interested in a job board posting as a student looking for an articling position.
I am a final year student at Trent University in Peterborough as a part of the Trent/Swansea Dual Degree program. I completed by LLB in 2025 at Swansea University in Swansea, Wales, UK. I am currently in the process of completing my NCA exams in the final year of my BBA at Trent so that I can begin articling this summer or autumn.
I am a local to Waterloo Region having grown up in St. Jacobs. In the summer of 2025 I worked for Wayne Farhood of Farhood Shamji Lawyers in Waterloo as a summer student and am willing to return to Waterloo to continue on my journey to getting fully qualified with the LSO.
I have experience in estate administration, real estate, and commercial law. I also have experience in mediation, negotiations, and oral advocacy through university classes and programs. Negotations in particular is a passion of mine and I competed in an international negotiations competition faciliated through Swansea University last year.
Enclosed is my resume detailing my education and legal work experience as well as reference letters from my former employers including Mr. Farhood and SLS. Please reach out to me at matthewvandesande@bell.net or call me at (519) 808-4729 if there are any questions.

SEEKING VOLUNTEER PLACEMENT
Taylor Darragh (Posted May 22, 2026)
I am currently entering my fourth year at Wilfrid Laurier University, where I am studying Sociology with a Leadership option and a minor in Criminology. I am very interested in pursuing a future career in law and I am hoping to gain more exposure to the legal field during Fall 2026. I was wondering if there are any opportunities available for students to volunteer, shadow, or assist within a law office or legal organization in the Waterloo Region. I would be especially interested in gaining experience with administrative work, client interaction, or learning more about day to day legal procedures. Through my previous work experience in customer service, leadership, and supervisory roles, I have developed strong communication, organization, and professionalism skills. I am eager to learn and would appreciate any opportunity to become more involved in the legal community.
